Annie’s View (April 23rd)
Tuesday, April 24th, 2007Hello Viewers,
Wow, I’m just gonna start right in. Did you see RAW? Smack Down last Friday? Any wrestling at all?
I do want to tell you something though before I start. Have you ever really loved wrestling so much you want to share it with people that don’t like it? That you turn it on and think your going to convert them or they’re going to turn to you and say ‘Oh wow, now I get why you watch.’ Yeah, well that’s what I did Friday night when I turned on Smack Down and was laughed out of the house. And please do NOT think that just because it was my Mom and my Grandma that’s why. My Grandma loves wrestling. She wanted to know where it was on Friday? Now that’s just pitiful. She remembers the really good wrestlers. The guy that did the claw who’s name escapes me at the moment. She remembers the Von Erich’s hey, that might be the guy’s name. She knows of Terry Funk, Killer Kowalski, Freddy Blassie well, you get the idea. And yet, she sat with me and watched two hours of Smack Down.
Sure, it’s not the best show and I’ll tell you Vince has totally ruined ECW that I won’t watch it at all anymore. Between that Layla and those other two girls that dance or try to while I sit there and wonder why I’m watching. The best person on that show is CM Punk oh and Balls Mahony but you take them away and what do you have? Okay, sorry, I forgot about RVD. Now he’s probably my favorite on that show but even he’s wasted. So is Lashley. So is everyone on that show.
Vince has finally done it. He’s started to kill wrestling. It has taken some time but he’s really ruining what used to be a really great two hours of my life.
Smack Down usually has Matt Hardy on it so this is a plus. And, it’s got Benoit who totally rocks. One person that watched Smack Down with me was totally impressed by Benoit and his moves. Especially the Sharpshooter. (NOTE: Since Bret Hart isn’t wrestling any longer Benoit is the ONLY wrestling that can actually sell the Shapshooter and No, don’t write me and tell me how Rock used to do this as well. Using the Sharpshooter is one thing, using it correctly is another and since Bret, Benoit is the only one that really gets it right.
Fit Finley gave everyone a great laugh. Sure, how dumb did I look when I mentioned the Little Bastard would be coming out only he didn’t. The one time I want to see him and he’s a no show. Now I know why he’s named the Little Bastard. My Grandma pointed out that Finley looked too old to be wrestling who he was. Which was Batista.
Batista was also impressive. He’s kind of cute actually. They both couldn’t get over Batista’s size and Finley’s. It definitely wasn’t a fair fight. Of course when Mr Kennedy interfered it was wrestling like normal. That’s never changed Grandma said.
Of course watching the Undertaker walk the ropes stunned my Grandma and that was good. Of course it quickly turned into a laugh that could be heard all over the building because of everyone running out and jumping the poor Undertaker. ‘He’ll get even.’ I told her.
It’s really fun to watch something like this with someone who remembers when wrestling was great. It’s also kind of sad to really. Because I to remember a time when Shawn was a Rocker, The Hart Foundation were formed. The Rock was probably still in diapers and Foley was Cactus Jack. Good times. But I digress.
Now we do have RAW and man, I have just got to watch RAW with Grandma. I think she’d be impressed with the John Cena and HBK. I know tonight I was. Both athletes were phenomenal in the ring. The match seemed to go on forever. Edge and Orton didn’t even wrestle and nobody really cared I don’t think.
Watching Cena get the sweet chin music was really awesome. I’m the biggest fan of Cena and I really don’t like HBK. However, I do like this rivalry and I do expect Cena to drop the belt pretty quick. This Sunday actually. That doesn’t mean he will but I think it’s time.
And did you hear the boo’s? I know. I guess in Italy Cena isn’t well loved but hey, you can’t be loved everywhere by everyone and I love him enough. No, I really do.
I am sick of the McMahon family again. It was nice when none of them were around and while I love Shane, Vince is never to far behind. Sigh..
And I don’t know about you but when my TV said that WWE was having technical difficulties and they had a picture of Hunter up, I froze the picture and longed to see Hunter back in the ring. Good grief there is another wrestler that I miss. I’m tired of him being worked to death that he’s got to take these long breaks due to being hurt in a horrible way but I long to see Hunter back in the ring beating the stuffing out of just about everyone. Oh it’s definitely time to play the game.
Umaga needs to go away for a bit because he’s just boring to me. Not sure how the rest of you feel about that so that’s this week’s Question of the Week? What do you think of Umaga?
And who knew that Murdoch was going to kick the stuffing out of the Hardy’s? Not me. That’s for sure. I’m sure a lot of Matt fans are angry.
And last but not least, Steve Austin’s movie, The Condemned, opens this Friday. If a Viewer goes to see it, please let me know what you think?
Well, there you go. Another View, another Question of the Week.
Until next time, be good or be like me, really good doing it.
