Annie’s View (June 16th)
Friday, June 16th, 2006Hello Viewers,
I’m not even going to try and explain why I have been away other than saying that wrestling wasn’t the most important thing in my life for a while.
Okay, you Viewers deserve to know why I have taken some time off. For one thing, I’m just too excited because my entire home is being redone!!!! Starting with my kitchen and dining room. New windows, walls, paint, cupboards and appliances are going to be heading my way soon. I’m too excited. So, thats THE main reason I haven’t been writing. Just haven’t had the time.
I also managed to go and see Kane’s flick ‘See No Evil.’ My husband laughed through it and Kane does something in that movie that I just never needed to know he did.
Also, I did manage to watch both RAW and ECW and I just have to say, I liked both shows. I thought they were both pretty good shows. And, for the most part I liked what they did on both shows.
Lets see, You all know I’m a Cena and Hunter fan. Well I’ll tell you right now, nobody does it better than these two guys. Well, I’m sure you have different Views but please feel free and share them with me. Who are your favorite wrestlers?
Now I knew that eventually that someone would turn down being a member of Vince’s club (for lack of a better word) and when I heard he’d asked Hunter to join it, well, I knew (as did most of you I’m sure) then who it would be.
Of course you knew HBK would return eventually and he did, in style at the end of RAW (Pardon the pun). It was hilarious watching Shawn with the sweet chin music on one of the spirit squad that was sweet (again, pardon the pun) but when DX came back and Hunter pulled down his pants and told Vince what to kiss, well that was priceless.
Cena was great as always but you know, he’s my guy and so, I have to say good things about him.
Randy Orton returned and was his usual self. Just not one of my favorites and apparantly, I’m not alone here. A lot of people dislike him as he really does think he’s all that and a bag of chips. It was good to see Kane go after him. And speaking of Kane… Who is this other Kane??? Time will tell
I’m so sick of Edge and Lita and I hope Edge gets his butt kicked in both RAW and ECW.
Speaking of ECW….
Let the bodies hit the floor and thats just what they did. A good show and the main reason is because Heyman is there. ECW is just something Vince really doesn’t ‘get’ like Heyman does and lets face it, Vince may have the money but Heyman’s got the stories and the better ideas.
The ten man fight tonight was awesome. I didn’t know Big Show was there and it was good to see him wrestling someone actually his size or as close as you can get.
Cena behind Edge was too funny and RVD, well what can you say about that man?
RVD is great. He’s a great face, a great heel a great wrestler.
The Sandman, Tazz, you know, the regular ECW guys. Most of the show was pretty good. Although I have to say that for the PPV I was actually surprised that Lawler lost. Why? I’m not sure but, thinking more about it I like that he lost. Gives me a chance to see Jerry in the ring yet again which, I love. He’s another wrestler that is just good and you don’t see him as often as you once did. I think his skills are really good. Hey, if Flair can still wrestle Jerry can because Jerry is just better (Sorry to the Flair fans) but that’s my View. Tell me yours.
Now I will say that I do want to know who the idiot girl was that didn’t know how to unhook her bra. (Note to Vince: Get a stripper than CAN strip. I kept sitting knowing full well she wasn’t going to strip. However, I DID think the girl knew how to take a bra off. Hmmm maybe she never wears them so it’s a forgein object. I don’t know but she was terrible. And if that was her idea of being sexy, well, it was so bad my husband left the room.
Who was the Zombie? That was really stupid. Bring back a vampire. Oh wait, they are going to. Still, that’s gotta be better than the zombie. I didn’t get to watch ECW that long here in CA so please, let me know if he was actually one of the originals.
And speaking of originals…..
I’m really surprised but really pleased that both Spike Dudley and Rhyno didn’t accept the contracts Vince offered them. I still wish Hardy (Matt that is) would have stayed in TNA for the same reason (that would be dignity) but I hear Spike tore his WWE contract up in front of an audience and Rhyno well, he just said No. Good. I love Rhyno and Spike but I can watch TNA and see them.
I’m giving ECW another chance and I hope all the true wrestling fans do as well.
The last Question of the Week What do you think of the story lines? I only picked a few so here they are:
Jessica answered my Question of the Week with this:
As usual Annie, AWESOME view!
As for your question of the week, the story line sucks pure and simple. Vince is trying to use a shock value to garner ticket sales and I am betting he ticked off a number of religious groups off.
Thankfully though he has dropped the story line.
Can’t wait until next week Annie!
From a Viewer named Tom, I love what he wrote as well which was it served only one purpose. It allowed an arrogant rich old bastard the opportunity to insult many who make up his audience. It did NO good for business, in fact it may have hurt. Personally speaking, I didn’t find it as offensive as I did boring and stupid.
Great column, Annie!

Hi, Annie! I hope all is well. I meant to write you sooner, but work is getting to me again. I have to agree with you concerning Mr. No-Talent Henry. Why should Vince waste his money? Why don’t we add the Spirit Squad to that list, and speaking of Viscera, Mable, man on no mission, let’s send his tagteam partner to TNA. In order for TNA to get better they must review what WCW and ECW did wrong to end up at the mercy of Vince and not do those things. I also think the fans are very fair-weathered and fickle. I’ll be the first to admit I’ve been one of those fans, I’m trying to change, however. Now if I can only remember the question you asked, oh, the shawn Michaels/God thing. There’s a reason I don’t watch Raw, ok maybe several, but that would be the main one. I’ll admit I’m no angel, but I do believe in God and making an idiot out of him will only cause trouble later. That’s just my opinion.

Quite frankly, I think it sucks. Doesn’t Vince have anything better to do than to offend people? While I may not be a Christian, I DO happen to have a lot of friends who are, and I happen to think this particular story line is tasteless and way over the line. When you start making fun of someone’s faith in their chosen Deity, it’s time to think about getting some new writing talent in the house.
Of course, I can’t let the death of another wrestling go by without saying how sad this truly is. John Tenta lost his battle to Cancer and was just still so young. I still remember him and Tugboat teaming up and making my family laugh.
QUESTION OF THE WEEK? What did you think of ECW?? Will it get better or worse?
That’s it Viewers, until next time, be good or be like me, really good doin it
