Annie’s View (Sept 17th)

Saturday, September 17th, 2005

Hello to all of my Viewers.

How have you been? I have been running behind schedule. I am getting ready to write another column (I know what your thinking) Your thinking that I haven’t even finished this one yet and you’d be correct.

I just went to Disneyland and stayed from the time it opened till the time it closed. What a blast but Wow, I don’t need the gym for a couple of days now.

Then, combine that with my trip in a few weeks and you get the picture. For the newest Viewers, once a year my best friend and I jump in her car and run away from our kids, hubbies, lives basically. This time we’re heading up north to Santa Clara for a few classes, some fun with some old friends and just basically fun. We have been best friends for years and this is what we like to call our Thelma and Louise trip.

Now before I start talking about wrestling and giving you MY View, I want you all to know that I need to hear from you. I love your Views and look forward to reading them. Sadly, it’s been taking me forever to get through my emails due to all the groups I am in. So I just may have to set up a new name for either my groups or, for my email. Give me your Views as to which should it be? I’ll be waiting.

Now a wonderful thing happened to me last week (and Yes, this is about wrestling). One of my editors, Karen, from Prowrestlingdaily.com, went to WrestleReunion 2 that was held in North Carolina for many reasons. But one of them was to finally meet Bret Hart. Of course I asked her to tell him that Annie STILL loves him but she did one better than that.

Now if you take a look at www.prowrestlingdaily.com you’ll see there is a column there of mine. Okay a few of them. The one with Bret shaking Vince’s hand. That’s the one I’m speaking of. Well, Karen printed that column out (two copies actually) and she took them with her. A few days ago in the mail was MY column SIGNED by my favorite wrestler to ever lace up boots for the squared circle. That’s right. Bret signed one of my columns. Didn’t you hear the scream? Yep. That was me. Karen also gave him the second copy of the same column along with one of her stellar columns and Bret promised her he’d read them both. I was so excited that I went to write a column, and well, I couldn’t. Until today. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Karen along with the shameless plugs above for her site.

Now I’ll talk about some other wrestling. LOL.

TNA I can’t wait. I really can’t. WWE needs some sort of competition as everyone has been saying and they’re finally going to get it. Lets hope that it lasts because the WWE has become so boring that last week, I taped it and then didn’t watch it because I knew I’d miss nothing.

Gone seem to be the days when I would look forward to wrestling because the matches were good no, great, the women’s division wasn’t a joke like it is now, and there was less talk more action.

Vince keeps firing the women that can actually WRESTLE. All but Trish and Victoria and Lita that is. The rest are pure fluff and it’s even starting to annoy some of the male Viewers that write me. So, I’m putting the Question of the Week in right now which is: DO YOU LIKE THE WAY THE WOMEN’S TITLE IS GOING?

CHRIS JERICHIO GONE?

If he did go it would serve Vince right. I mean please. He has had no title run for how long now? Exactly. He’s one of the best wrestlers Vince has and he keeps him on the back burner. It’s just so frustrating watching someone with so much talent being wasted that way.

Then again, Jericho needed a break and he needed to go out on tour with his band, Fozzy. I love the name of his group too.

I still think he deserves a title match and I am hoping that when he returns, he’ll receive it.

NOBODY GETS TO KEEP THEIR NAME.

This shouldn’t be too shocking for any of us really. The Warrior kept his by changing his name TO Warrior otherwise, he wouldn’t have gotten his either. Personally, I like Ivory’s real name much better than the name Ivory. Makes me think of the soap.

Now the Dudley boys, well they’ll come up with something but Spike’s name was awesome. I just loved it. And then theyre’s Billy Kidman. He’ll be fine as well. Too many Billys anyway and I hate that name. Finally I can say that. I just think that Vince is well, being Vince. Sure, he owns the names but C’mon. It’s not like the Dudleys were his to begin with. They came from ECW. But he owns the rights to that so he now owns the right to the names. Sad really. Because I View it this way. If he lets them keep their names, people will remember them from when they were with the WWE. The new people starting to watch wrestling( which I’m wondering why) won’t even know the history of where they came from. Sad really. But greed and power often go to people’s heads. (Probably one big reason I’ve not won the lottery) LOL

PPVS SUCK, NOPE ITS JUST WRESTLING

Someone in a group I’m in asked if they’re should be less PPVs. I say to this ABSOLUTELY. One of the reasons that wrestling no longer is fun to watch is because the card isn’t built up long enough for it to become exciting. Would you like an example? Great.

HBK VS HOGAN!!! Did you see how many people bought that PPV? How many thought that was the best match they’d seen in a long time? Your right. It was. Why?

Because the two wrestlers while they have been around for a very long time, neither had ever wrestled each other. THIS is what wrestling needs more of. New matches. Combine that with the fact that this match was actually built up.

Between the RAWs and the Internet, this match got so much hype, some non-wrestling fans actually wanted to see it and did.

I am already sick of Cena and Angle. They fought on Smack Down, They are fighting now on RAW. Put Cena and Batista together. THAT would be a good match I think. At the very least, it would be one we haven’t seen before.

CARLITO

Either Carlito has to go or he has to give up that horrible apple spitting. I say go with the latter. It’s just disguesting. If someone were to spit an apple in my face, I’d have to smack the crap out of him. .

Last but never least. One of my Viewers, Lou, lives in LA. His house is under water needless to say he lost pretty much everything or so he thinks as he’s still not allowed back to his home.

To all the Katrina victims out there, I am praying for each and everyone of you. God Bless each one of you.

So there you go. A short View because frankly, nothing good to report. No question of the Wee this week so your off the hook. That’s it till the next time. So until then be good or be like me, good doing it.
