Annie’s View (March 17th)

Thursday, March 17th, 2005

Hello everyone. Welcome back to another View. Happy St. Patricks Day to all of you. Did you wear green? Not me but then again, I’m Italian. LOL Okay enough.

Well, I was planning on writing one earlier than this but you know, life happens. Just so much stuff going on and frankly, I’m still dealing with a death in the family that has hit me like a ton of bricks. I seem to cry all the time anymore. So wrestling, for me, is actually a GREAT thing because it takes my mind off it it. So let’s chat.

First of all, hello to Kim who has been doing all of my Graphics. Well, most of them. Also, I would LOVE it if you could stop my the Website and have a look. Why? Because Charity is so sweet and as a belated birthday gift to me, she bought me my own domain. Wasn’t that just totally sweet? I know. This is why I can say with ease that’s she’s one of the coolest people I have ever met on the net. As a HUGE favor to both, Charity and myself (Mostly Charity) Go sign my guest book or, better yet, send me an email. There is a form on my site to do just that. Either way, please check out my site and tell her what a bitchin job she’s done. Anniesview.Net There you go.

Now I was full of anger a few days ago. So much so that I was going to write a column but was just too angry to do so. Ever been that way. Just too mad to think straight? Me too. And here’s why.

ECW. Who doesn’t miss this wonderful federation? I know that many of you out there that saw all three federations (Lucky you as CA didn’t get ECW) always seemed to chose ECW over WCW or WWE. With good reason.

Look at the stars that came from there. Raven, Jericho, Dreamer, Tazz, Benoit, Rhyno, RVD. Why I could on and on.

So when all but WWE were gone, imagine the kind of void we all seem to feel. I thought ‘hey, Vince will make it right.’ Clearly I have given Vince more credit than he deserves.

But wait!!!

He did hire Heyman. WhooHoo. And the writing on Smack Down began to take off. Good storylines, great wrestling. It was quickly becoming the RAW of shows. Heyman may not be able to keep a federation afloat monetarily, but the man can write a storyline that actually keeps you INTERESTED. Did you read that Stephanie? INTERESTED!!! Something that she can’t do.

But of course Heyman had to screw up and listen in on a phone call not meant for his ears and just like that he was canned. Of course, I don’t blame Vince for that. I mean eavesdropping is well, eavesdropping. So naturally, I could understand this. Somewhat.

I mean, it’s not like Vince hasn’t done a thing or two that he shouldn’t have done throughout wrestling.

Now an ECW PPV is being planned and the fans are excited. I mean, C’MON!!! We’re going to get the best of the best. Maybe some of the old ECW stars that are now WWE stars will join in. Like Benoit. I’d love to see him wrestle anyone because he does it with Hart (get it) Moving on.

Since Heyman was let go we’re all wondering if the PPV can be pulled off. Can it? Nobody knows.

Now we all know that Shane Douglas is having his own ECW Reunion show on June 10th. Douglas wasted no time in getting Raven, Terry Funk, Sandman, Sabu, and several others to join him in celebrating a place they’d all like nothing more than to return to. Word is though that Vince has said that any of the wrestlers who participate in Douglas’s show, need not even try to watch for an invitation to his. And then it happened.

Nobody cared. Or at least that’s what it seems because now Vince is saying that anyone that wants to can be a part of BOTH shows. As the SNL church lady would say “Isn’t that Special’?

What I do know is this. If Heyman had the checkbook like Vince or Ted Turner, ECW would be giving Vince a run for his money right now.

And isn’t THAT what Vince really needs? Competition? Oh yes he does. Without it, wrestling has become a bit boring and many many of you have written me and told me that you no longer are interested in wrestling at all.

I really think that’s sad because I, for one, still enjoy it. Maybe that’s what sad. I keep thinking how much worse can it get?

Answer: We’ll see.

I’m leaving last week’s question up for one more week. It is: WHO’S YOUR FAVORITE DIVA?

I know this was very fast. But fear not, I will have another one coming out.

Until next time be good or be like me, really good doin it.
