Annie’s View (Oct 27th)
Monday, October 27th, 2003Hello Viewers. Welcome to another column. I know I’m late again but I’m telling you it’s just been so hectic around here you wouldn’t believe it. First off, I want to continue to thank all the Viewers that drop emails or IM me asking about my ankle. It’s really nice to know that people care even if they only know you through a column. For those of you that don’t know I have my third and (Hopefully) final cast. I couldn’t believe it when the Dr. looked and said ‘Your getting another cast and let’s keep it on for three more weeks’!! Holy Cow Viewers. So, as much as I hate math, I did the math and found out that the cast won’t come off until early November. Of course with Halloween fast approaching my newest cast is Orange. In my last column which was the PPV column I didn’t mention my foot. I figured I’d give you guys and gals a break from it. But, in nine days I get this cast off and believe me, nobody wants it off more than I do. Ahh, I can hear the gym calling me even as I type this.
I’m going right into the column tonight as I’m just so depressed over the loss of yet, another wrestler. LOD were my Son’s favorite tag team and next to the Hart Foundation they were mine.
Hawk and Animal were excellent wrestlers and Hawk will be missed. They say that he had an enlarged heart. I know that you can get this because of different things you do but I’m really praying it’s not from Steroids.
I know you don’t need a lecture on this but I’m telling anyone out there that reads my column don’t use steroids. I have a lot of Indy wrestlers that read this column (You know who you are) and I don’t want to hear thirty years from now when you’ve made it into Pro Wrestling that your dead due to steroid abuse. While they haven’t said this is why Hawk died, I just have this really eerie feeling in the pit of my stomach. The same one I had when Stu Hart went into the hospital this last time. Something just told me it would be his last time. Enough. I promise I’m done….For now.
The one thing though I did like was the tribute to Hawk on Smack Down. I’m sure they’ll be more on Confidential. At least, they’re should be.
Also, I guess next week is the tribute to Stu Hart. It’s about time. Maybe I won’t actually MISS Confidential then either. Sometimes, I just do.
Onto wrestling.
Paul Heyman has returned happier and thinner than before. His hair still has a ponytail and he still dons that Yankees cap but he did cut his hair and I wonder just how much he actually did lose. I know he lost because you can just see it or rather, you can’t.
In any event, watching him screw around with the matches especially Undertaker’s was priceless. One can only hope that Vince will let Paul have some of that creative control and if he does, Smack Down will literally be wiping the floor with RAW much as it is now.
Smack Down is the better show and it pains me to say that as RAW has always been my favorite. While both have excellent and favorite wrestlers of mine on each one. We have to face the fact that Smack Down even has more wrestling. For a wrestling fan like myself, that alone makes it a must see.
Undertaker to fight Vince in a buried alive match. Now this will only and I mean ONLY be good if Undertaker wins and Vince never comes back. Well, maybe it will be good even if nope, ONLY if Vince never comes back.
So Vince is there with Sable and they’re in the sky box. I’m excited aren’t you? Is it me, or does Sable just look tired and old anymore? Vince must really be enjoying this.
I would be. I have no love loss for Sable after the lawsuit and while I know why Vince hired her back (This is wrestling and he’ll do anything for satisfaction) I shudder sometimes that he did actually allow her back. I’m not sure if this sickens me or saddens me. Hm, perhaps both.
I’m not even going to talk about Cena this week except to say that Benoit did a great job in that match. Now here’s a wrestlers that deserves to use the Sharpshooter. What a tribute and a class act. Kudos go out to Benoit.
One more thing I don’t know who it is that doesn’t like the Undertaker but I for one, just love him. I’m so happy that he’s going to be on Survivor Series. This is one of the few PPV’s that I actually buy. I just love the dead man. You can call him whatever you choose but I just call him awesome. That is me though. I welcome your Views but you know that.
RAW was actually pretty good this week. I guess I should start out by Congratulating the happy couple Mr. and Mrs. Paul McMahon. Seriously, I hope they’re happy for many years. While I’m on the subject, doesn’t Edge look good in a tux?? I sure think he does and Foley, I have got to say looks just like my Brother-in-law Don. He really does. Congratulations!!!
I have to say that the WWE now annoys me as they cut to commercials just like WCW did. Funny how Vince never did that until he had no competition. Just something I’m sure we’ve all noticed but I wanted to say it because it made me feel better.
For the record, I’m sick of Stacy being a “victim.” Can I get an Oh Hell Yeah??? Seriously, it’s time she use those long lanky legs and kick Test in his testicles. I’d PAY to see that. And while she’s at it, kick the garbage out of Steiner just because.
Right now, it looks as if Test is almost like me, all bandaged up. I hope he gets well soon. From one gimp to another.
I don’t know who I want to retire more from wrestling, Ric Flair or Goldberg. Yes I do..
GOLDBERG!
Is it true that RVD is planning to leave wrestling? Word is just that. For wrestling’s sake I hope not. However, I know that wrestling is something you shouldn’t do forever (Hear that Flair) It can really wreck your body. Tijiri was at RVD’s comic book store signing autographs. Now why wasn’t I told? Sigh…
Last Week’s Question of the Week gave me a lot of answers and Viewpoints from all of you. I thank each and every one of you that took time out to answer the Question. Here are some of your Views.

the worst wrestler to ever hold the belt was hands down Goldberg or the Ultimate Warrior. I’m sorry you only asked for one hahaha! I would also say Hogan, but he put asses in the seats. Why is beyond me, but he did.

AceofSpades answered :
Hogan…although…at the time…i would’ve said i was happy with him being the champ…but once i followed him over to WCW and realized he wasn’t really all that talented…that all went out the window…
Jeff(Booker’s another choice…but nowhere near as bad as hogan…)
PetePokr wrote this :
It’s a three way tie between Vince McMahon(WWF), David Arquette(WCW) & Vince Russo(WCW).
PeterPorkr (Mick Foley if you’re talking actual wrestlers)
BlackyFletcher’s answer was short and to the point. Here it is.
Hands down Hogan.
Stardogg wrote a great answer :
What is “the” belt you’re talking about. Also, you stated wrestler, so I’m assuming you actually means a real wrestler. If you don’t, then the worst person ever is Goddamn Vince. If we’re talking about a real wrestler, my pick is Goldberg. There has never been a more inept human being to hold the belt, besides Vince of course.
PhilMitchell wrote and boy did he: ……………i think most people would rate Diesel as the worst guy to hold the WWE title. mainly because he was the worst drawing world champ in the history of the company. True, allot of the stuff he did as champ wasn’t very entertaining (the feud with the utterly useless ‘king mabel’ for instance) but i think he was a pretty good champ. his match with HBK at WM 11 was excellent and his loss to bret at Survivor series when he turned heel was great.
The Ultimate Warrior is also a name that springs to mind. Billed by WWE as the successor to Hulk Hogan, most people view his run as champ as very disappointing. It’s true he struggled with the world title between 1990 and 1991 but i definitely don’t think he’s the worst guy to carry the strap.
If we excuse transistional and short lived champions like Vince McMahon, Ted Dibiase, Andre, Kane and Bob Backlund then I’d have to say that the worst WWE champion ever is Sergeant Slaughter. The reason for giving him the title was ridiculous. Vince (in one of the most misguided booking decisions in the company’s history) decided WWE should cash in on the gulf war so he had Sarge turn his back on the US and become an Iraqi sympathiser. This was , in my opinion the most offensive and tasteless angle WWE has ever done. Whilst Sarge was saluting the Iraqi flag, actual American soldiers were dying in the gulf. To try to use an nternational conflict like this to promote the WWE was disgraceful. Also, although he is well respected by most fans now, Sarge was never really that good of a wrestler and he didn’t deserve to wear the title. The decision to give the Sarge the belt was just wrong no matter how you looked at it.
WWE though Sarge’s traitor charctewr would be a huge draw and set up a big showdown with hulk at WM 7 . unfortunately, reaction to the angle was so bad that Vince was forced to move WM from the 100,000 seater Los Angeles colliseum to the meagre 10’000 seat LA sports arena. Proof enough that Seargeant Slaughter is the worst champ in WWE’s history………..
hope that’s alright and that it’s not too long. That was a great question Ayn. i really enjoyed thinking about that one. Anyway have a good week and i’ll speak to you soon,

A5300 agreed with Mr. Pogo.
Sam Jerry wrote :
Sans the word wrestler, the worst ever to hold a Title Belt hands down is David Arquette. Yet another of Good Old Eric’s moves that helped bury WCW.
WolfCrane1 wrote The worst wrestler ever to hold a belt has to go to David Arquet or however you spell Mr. Courtney Cox’s name. Though it wasn’t the WWE it was the turning point of the downfall of WCW. It ranked right up there with The Fonz jumping over the shark on Happy Days. For god’s sake what were they thinking??? Maybe Gary Colman could have wrestled him for the title? Wrestling is suppose to be exciting leaving you wondering who will win. That was just pitiful.
HBKdxHart wrote :I wish I could actually think about this question and put thought into guys from years ago, but I can’t do that when somebody like Goldberg is wearing a WWE title. Granted, he was a big player in WCW, but only place he looked good at was on paper and this isn’t WCW. Wrestling is at a low point and in times of trouble, they need to go to guys who can 1) put together a wrestling match and actually perform, 2) step up to the plate and set a standard for others to strive for, 3) carry the company…Goldberg possesses zero of these qualities. As much as people hated on HHH for having the belt for so long, there is a reason for that, and no it wasn’t because of Stephanie, it’s because not only did he possess all 3 qualities, but he perfected them IMO.

That’s it for another View. Okay New Question of the Week comes from BorntobeSting who asks :WHO DO YOU WANT TO TURN HEEL??
Until next time, be good or be like Annie really good doing it.
